AFTER PARTY-Fixed

Why do you need drummers?

At a wedding there are certain parts of the day where the guests experience a lull. Maybe right after the meal and speeches people are waiting for the next thing to happen, they start to wander off to their rooms, or outside, sitting around slightly lethargic. This is where The Hit Machine comes in.

Imagine a lone drummer enters the back of the room. With a war cry he begins to play. The whole room excitedly turns to watch. As they are watching him the rest of the drum team set up on the dance floor, unseen. With a call, they now start to play, much to the surprise of everyone in the room for the second time! The show is underway.

This kick-starts the party, and you can be sure that your guests are going to be dancing and having fun all night.

We’re being robbed, and We… Can’t…. Stop….. Playing!!!

We get stuck in. When it’s show time something magical takes over us. So much so that we didn’t know what were not able to stop when we were being robbed.

It all happened in the glorious summer of 2015. We had recently taken to the streets to busk, and we were getting amazing crowds around us in temple bar. Unfortunately there was a unscrupulous sort there who slowly made way to our donation case, and ever so slowly dipped the hand in…. pulled out a twenty euro note… and then wandered away. We were all aware that this was happening, in slow motion nonetheless, but we were powerless to stop playing. So many people there dancing and enjoying our show, we could not break the spell.

We will go to the ends of the earth for you, and we won’t let something small get in the way of the show.

GAA Finals 2016 Croke Park

In 2014 & 2015 we had drummers performing on the pitch of Croke Park for the GAA Finals. We were honoured to be asked back again in 2016. But in the wake of Laochra and Riverdance’s performance with 100 people on the pitch, Croke Park asked us to do a bigger show. This turned out to be the biggest show that I have put together. We have 40 people on the pitch, armed with Bodhráns, massive flags, and the biggest drums we could get our hands on.

With imagination, hard work and dedication we made the show come together. This opening sequence has been used for the Senior Hurling Finals on September 4th, and for the Senior Football Finals on September 18th. The track we are performing to is named “Mothú” whch means “feeling” in Irish
